The Haywood County Rescue Squad, Inc. is a 501(c)3, volunteer, paramedic level service located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. Consisting of around 40 volunteers, the Haywood County Rescue Squad offers services such as back-up emergency medical services for Haywood EMS, and responds to a variety of emergency situations, including vehicle accidents; motor vehicle, farm, and industrial machinery extrication; search and rescue operations; swiftwater rescue; high and low angle rescue; trench rescue and confined space rescue. The Haywood County Rescue Squad has always been closely involved with the community, and continues to participate in many community and public relations events throughout the county. In addition to our volunteer membership, Haywood County Rescue Squad has been proud to provide our citizens for the past 10 years with our “Transport Services Division,” a fleet of paid units providing convalescent non-emergency ambulance services to our citizens.
2018 marks the 60th Anniversary of Haywood County Rescue Squad. Initially called “Mobile Intensive Care Technicians” our volunteers laid the ground-work of pre-hospital care in the United States. The Haywood County Rescue Squad is now ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for Community Member positions on our Board of Directors: Applicants must be residents of Haywood County.
The Board meets the second Tuesday of each month- All applications must be completed prior to January 1, 2018.
